December 2005, Boxing Day. Our annual ascent of Pen-Y-Ffan and the neighbouring peak of Cwm-Ddu just peaks out of the mist. Icy wind, ground covered in frost. Most bracing and a welcome cup of tea and bacon sandwich at the car park on our return (the dog got the rinds).
